I walk on

I may never be so strong again,
but I walk on.
I may never truly smile again,
but I walk on.

Only He knows how much I've tried,
all the tears I've cried,
pain I could never stop.

I am just a woman who has lost her way,
everything I see reminds me of how we used to be,
all my dreams like fine glass I must step beneath my feet.

I am a cruel sorrowed hollow shell of a gal,
only He knows how poor I've been,
all the things that I can only lose.

Oh great Healer, constrict me graciously in your Light.
Oh One true Protector, show me that I am just a fool,
that Your wisdom will teach me how someday.

Someday will come my way,
till then,
I walk alone,
I walk on.
